In the wintery wilderness the American Wild West, a lone black horse wearing white war paint trots over a hill kicking up a spray of snow. The wind blows through the wilderness, picking up the mane and tail of the Indian pony as he glances your way. In the background another snowy hill rises spotted with dark fir trees. Above, bright clouds drift lazily in the cold blue skies.
This addition to my War Horse series was the first to feature an all black horse sans humans. I really wanted to make its dark coat stand out, so I decided a snowy scene would do the job.
