Artist's Description

A creature of myth and legend appears before you in the deep forest. Among dark green ferns an moss covered tree trunks, an equine beauty rears up. It is a unicorn, but not your typical white coated horse with conical horn. Rather, this fantasy animal sports an appaloosa coat.

Originally, I created this scene using my typical style of super detailed realism, but I decided to try an experiment in port production. I made the scene look more like an impressionist painting, get more abstract as it got towards the edges, making the unicorn's head totally detailed, but losing that details as it gets to the trees and ground. I really liked the energy is seems to add to the scene and the focus in brings to the animal's face.

Thanks for looking,
Daniel
