Artist's Description
Acrocanthosaurus was a type of carcharodontosaurid dinosaur that lived during the early Early Cretaceous in what is now North America. It's distinguishing feature is a set of neural spines on its back, and its name actually means "high spined lizard". It was largest theropod of its habitat and was likely the apex predator of North America in an era before T-Rex.
