Description
A group of owls, known as a parliament, sits perched on the edge of an old, moss covered bird bath. Surrounding them is a fall forest. There is a great grey owl, a great horned owl, and a snowy owl. They are flanked by two smaller barn owls. Each of them is subtly reflected in the still waters of the bird bath. All of the owls look back at, you, the viewer. Around them, the old twisted oaks have begun to shed their leaves for the autumn, yet the trunks are still covered in a deep green moss. Meanwhile a subtle mist drifts through the forest foliage.
This is actually a second view of a scene I created several months ago: http://www.danieleskridge.com/featured/owl-parliament-daniel-eskridge.html This one is closer to the owls and emphasized them over the forest around them.
To make this, I sculpted and painted the models for the Great Horned, snowy owl, and one of the barn owls using Sculptris. I also used Sculptris to create the birdbath and tree trunks. For the great grey owl and barn owl on the right, I used a pre-made owl model, posed in Poser. I used Vue to render the scene and GIMP to touch up errors, adjust colors, and add my stamp.

Stunning Daniel, great image. Owls are beautiful birds and to see the different species together like this is wonderful. v/f
